The new paperback version of Daughters of the Marionettes, available from the end of September, does not only have a new cover but also includes extra material. The new text at the end of the book deals with my grandfather, Bernhard J-son Ernestam (BJ), his engagement against Nazi politics and his struggle for a worthy treatment of refugees coming to Sweden during and after World War Two. The text also includes photographs, for instance one of an original manuscript for an article my grandfather wrote for the Swedish newspaper Svenska Morgonbladet.
My grandfather’s actions, including events happening during his efforts, have served as an inspiration when I wrote Daughters of the Marionettes and I am very pleased to add this information to the book. Personally I am very fond of the picture showing me, between one and two years old, sitting in my grandfather’s lap, ”reading” the newspaper with him. I am immensely grateful for the values that he has conveyed to me.
