Sometimes even if a book cover has been carefully selected and everyone is happy with it, it may still transpire that a publishing company’s marketing department gets second thoughts. The cover can be ever so beautiful but sends out the wrong signals regarding content, genre or something else. This has just happened in France, where An Eye for an Eye and a Paw for a Paw will be released in October. The lovely cover previously presented, in combination with the small format of the book, could possibly make it be perceived as a book intended mainly for younger readers. My publisher Gaïa has now changed the cover to the one you see below. Different, yes. But very good as well.
